What the charity actually does

Two things, joined on purpose. The first is basketball at the highest grassroots level: NYC Honor competes on the MADE Hoops MHC circuit against nationally ranked programs. The second is the Honor System, a money curriculum built for athletes who may one day see NIL income: money fundamentals, taxes, credit, and the habits that make a first check last. Licensed financial professionals teach it pro bono, and every athlete gets it at no cost.

Peer programs in New York bill families thousands of dollars per player in team fees each season. NYC Honor charges players nothing, which is exactly why it runs on donations.

Where a donation goes

  • $5,000 carries one team's full season: travel, uniforms, and tournament entry.
  • $500 is 10% of a season; $100 is 2%. The donate page shows every level and takes one-time or monthly gifts.
  • Gifts are tax deductible. Every donor gets a receipt carrying the EIN, and employer matching programs can double a gift.

Giving by check, IRA, or donor advised fund

Card gifts run through the donate page. For a check, an IRA gift, or a donor advised fund grant, your custodian needs:

  • Payee: NYC Honor Foundation Inc.
  • EIN: 42-1836369
  • The mailing address: email eslyn@nychonor.org and we reply within one business day.

If you are 70½ or older with a traditional IRA, the QCD calculator shows why giving straight from the IRA usually beats writing a check.

For businesses

A season sponsorship puts a company's name on a team the way the 2026 founding sponsor's mark appeared on the jerseys in a national final. The sponsor a team page has the details. Sponsors are acknowledged, never advertised.
